I had the honour of attending a friend’s wedding recently in Bonnie Scotland. Two of my sons were “Best Men” and my third son an usher so it was a great family celebration. The venue was fantastic – an old mill, so the photographs are amazing. The function room where the meal was served was decorated beautifully with great attention to detail. One of the many things guests were complimenting was the decorative writing on each table. Each table was given the name of a Scottish castle and was displayed along with a picture. The calligraphy writing complemented the stately castle pictures perfectly. The place names were elegantly written in gold calligraphy on a black background – very special! Each guest had a little gift bag at their place, the personal message having being handwritten specially in attractive, curved calligraphy writing.
Calligraphy – the art of beautiful writing (from the Greek word kallos meaning beauty and graphe meaning writing) enhanced each wedding table so that each guest had their own unique keepsake as a memento of this very special day!
